Happy Birthday

Standard

It’s been quite a year. We witnessed the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. The same two teams met in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year. We had a repeat champion in the NHL. Oh, and the Chicago Cubs finally won a World Series after a 108-year waiting period. Continue reading

Happy Birthday

Another year has past and as much as I’d like to think the worst of it is over, I know there is much more in store for me.  You need to stay positive no matter the outcome.  I learned that a long time ago.
Going forward I know that I am truly grateful for what has been provided to me and for what I have earned.  It seems from my perspective that some of my generation, not all, but some have either given up or are waiting for something to fall in their lap.
I was in your shoes for an entire year.  I wasted an entire year of my life waiting and not acting.  Thankfully I had a strong support system to wake my lazy self up and get moving.  I know that some folks don’t have that support to help them through it, but there are great people out there ready to help.
Why am I writing this?  My words are not the most influential, but I can relate to the way people are feeling these days.  I’m here to tell you that going through tough times and coming out on top will give you the greatest feeling in the world that you can accomplish anything.  Keep your chin up and good things always come to those who seek it.
Thank you for listening and checking in.  Football is right around the corner.  October baseball will be here before you know it.  The NBA and NHL season will be starting as well.  Lots of previews coming down the pipe and maybe some surprises along the way.
Check out the Instagram feed tomorrow for some incredible throwback photos of this former bat boy (see above).

“Calling All Angels”
Another year has come and gone by for me.  Just so you know I’m approaching the dreaded 3-0 in a couple years now.  That was the first thing I realized when both of my older brothers had turned 30; I’m next.  I’m sure my younger brother won’t have the same thought, but it’s fast approaching that’s for sure.
Enough about me.  I’ve taken this time to thank each and everyone of you who continue to check in here at this site and where ever else I may be on the world wide web.  That includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and whatever other methods of communication I’m missing.  It is truly amazing that so many folks have visited.
It’s been three amazing years doing this.  Rest assured that I will continue to add new content for the rest of this year and the foreseeable future.  The NFL season is starting soon which means another round of team-by-team previews.  And you can count on those ‘Week In Review’ posts as well if you missed any of the action.
Don’t fret though if I have any moments of prolonged silence.  I’ve recently started a new full-time job that will occupy most of my weekdays.  But I will not abandon the dream that I have set out to achieve since I started this website back in 2009.
I will return to the airwaves in some capacity.  Either on the internet or terrestrial radio.  ‘My Newest Venture’ at the Final Score Sports Network is still a go.  So stay tuned for updates on that front, as well as my column there.
Once again thank you all for supporting this site and making this ‘Sports Guy’s’ wish come true.  God Bless.
