It’s been quite a year. We witnessed the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. The same two teams met in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year. We had a repeat champion in the NHL. Oh, and the Chicago Cubs finally won a World Series after a 108-year waiting period.
It seems that in the blink of an eye all of that happened during a rather big transitioning period in my life.
Right around this time last year I had decided to leave what I had in California and move to Washington. I’m no stranger to moving. My earlier days were growing up in a military family that was used to it.
This time was a little bit different in that I would be the only one moving on. I’m not gonna lie and say that it was a piece of cake. Nothing is ever easy, but I don’t regret anything about it.
Having an amazing family backing you up and getting you through the varying bumps in the road certainly was a big reason for coming out on top.
New perspectives have been gained and lessons learned along the way. The ‘Sports Guy’ is ready for whatever comes my way.
Apparently football is quickly making its way back into the spotlight and that means my NFL preview is just around the corner along with my ‘Weekly Reviews’ when the season starts.
As I go further into my 30s, I’d like to think that I’ll look back at the beginning of this period of my life and simply smile at all that I accomplished.
The next chapter in my life is beginning to write itself. One thing is for certain, I will always stay positive and pass it on along the way. And the other is to be true to myself and be the man I know I can be.
