Saints over Chiefs
After last years low scoring affair, I think it would be best to see some more scoring in the Super Bowl.
Both the Saints and the Chiefs suffered devastating losses in the their Conference Championship games last year. They will both find that this year will be in their favor.
For Drew Brees and the Saints, this will be their second time in the Super Bowl and they will have a more balanced team than their last appearance in the 2009 season. Alvin Kamara is poised to have a fantastic season as the lone feature back and with Michael Thomas as the go-to receiver, the offense will be clicking all season long. The defense rarely blitzes as their front four provide enough pressure to allow the coverage units time to take away throwing lanes.
Kansas City has a potent offense with Patrick Mahomes having another stellar season and with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce being his top two targets. The surprise has been on defense as the additions of Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu have revitalized the defense in their switch to a 4-3 scheme. They boast the top offense in the league as well as a top-10 defense just like New Orleans.
While it is an even matchup on paper the Chiefs can’t find a way to neutralize Michael Thomas who hauls in two touchdown passes on his way to getting MVP honors.
Final Score: New Orleans 31 – Kansas City 21
