National League Central

Standard

* – indicates new to team

1. Chicago Cubs

108 years and counting since their last World Series title. That could all end this season for the ‘lovable losers’.

2. St. Louis Cardinals

You want to count them out, but they have one of the deepest talent pools in all of baseball.

3. Pittsburgh Pirates

They would be the favorites to win the division if they weren’t in the NL Central.

4. Milwaukee Brewers

The rebuilding has begun for the Brew Crew and they will look to be contenders in two seasons.

5. Cincinnati Reds

Having Joey Votto keeps them competitive, but they need to rebuild the pitching staff.

Player to Watch: P Jake Arrieta Chicago Cubs

Does he have a repeat of his 2015 Cy Young season in him? It’s certainly possible with the roster around him gaining another year of experience and adding the likes of Heyward and Zobrist backing him up on defense.

Best Acquisition: OF Jason Heyward Chicago Cubs

His defense is unquestioned as he can play all three outfield spots, but is better suited in right. The question was will his bat live up to the contract he received? In this stacked lineup there should be no doubts.

New Kid on the Block: SS Orlando Arcia Milwaukee Brewers

An outstanding defender at his age and his bat has excelled to the point where the Brewers would be hard pressed to keep in the minors past June.
