They’re Going Back To The Playoffs
Not since 2002 have the Oakland Raiders played in the playoffs. That was Super Bowl 37 and the embarrassing loss to Tampa Bay. Whether their fortunes are different this time around is yet to be determined, but it was interesting that they clinched a playoff spot in the very stadium that they suffered that Super Bowl loss. Looking back at that roster in 2002, the Raiders were an older team than the one they have now. That could be a good and a bad thing, but their head coach Jack Del Rio has been in this position many times before. From day one last season the culture has changed in Oakland to get back to their former owner Al Davis’ motto, “Just Win Baby”. It has resonated with the players and the fans. Depending on their playoff position, they could be a force this year.
Are There Any Questions Now?
He was 32 for 36 for 279 yards and ran for a touchdown. All that after a bad performance in which the Dallas Cowboys lost just their second game of the season. Now why was there chatter that the Cowboys were in trouble when Dak Prescott had led them to an 11-1 record before that second loss to the New York Giants? Mainly because there has to be something to talk/debate about in sports these days. It was a waste of time as they would be naive to bench Prescott after one loss. If Dallas had lost to Tampa Bay and/or Prescott played poorly again, maybe the idea has some merit. Nevertheless, the Cowboys won and Prescott was nearly perfect passing the ball. If Tony Romo gets an opportunity to play, it will be from injury or a complete collapse by Prescott.
Most Dangerous Team In The NFC
It turns out that all that money they spent to shore up the defense has paid off for the Giants. As of late they have allowed a combined 13 points in their last two games. The most points they have given up was 29 back on Week 3 of the season. What has helped them this year has been the defense, but what will help them win another Super Bowl has to be their offense. Eli Manning has been getting Odell Beckham Jr. involved most of the year. Victor Cruz and rookie Sterling Shepherd have been good, but they need to be more involved with Beckham seeing more double coverage. The lack of a rushing attack is a bit disappointing, but it hasn’t deterred them from winning 10 games. Assuming they don’t lose their final two games and miss out on the playoffs, this team will cause problems. Dallas knows all too well as their only two losses came at the hands of the Giants. The rest of the NFC needs to take notice. They won’t go down easily.
