2026 World Series Champions

The Milwaukee Brewers won it their way. A franchise that clinched a spot in the Postseason in eight of the past nine seasons. They won six division titles in that span and have won the NL Central the last four seasons. Their fan base is loyal to a fault and has seen many disappointing finishes with great teams in years past. That all went out the window in this Postseason as the Brewers had their first 100-win season that culminated in their first World Series title.

World Series MVP William Contreras was their best player in this Postseason. He batted .381 and drove in 4 runs in the World Series against Tampa Bay. He also controlled the Rays’ vaunted base stealers by throwing out numerous runners in the five-game series. Cooper Pratt and Jackson Chourio could have also been named MVP of the World Series for their performances. Pratt drove in 7 runs and batted .421. Chourio batted .458, drove in 2 runs and stole 3 bases. Chourio also made history by tying Babe Ruth for the most hits in the first four games of a World Series with 10.

The Brewers captain Christian Yelich was a steady presence the entire Postseason leading the team with 4 stolen bases. He drove in 5 runs and batted .268. There were many players that had key moments throughout the Postseason, but every Brewers fan wasn’t surprised by their contributions. David Hamilton and Garrett Mitchell having clutch home runs late in games. Sal Frelick hitting a clutch home run in the World Series and making circus catches in the outfield. Brice Turang and Jake Bauers are the constant forces in the middle of the lineup and were relied upon heavily.

No one will ever forget about the pitching of these Brewers as they proved their worth throughout the season. Aaron Ashby didn’t allow a single run in his 18 innings of work in the Postseason. He struck out 20 batters, saved 3 games and allowed only 5 hits. Jacob Misiorowski got the victory pitching in the series clincher in Game 5. He didn’t have dominant outings, but never took a loss and had an ERA under two for the Postseason. Trevor Megill saved 5 games in his 8 appearances striking out 11 batters. Abner Uribe and deadline acquisition JoJo Romero combined for 3 victories and 22 strikeouts in their Postseason work for Milwaukee.

Perhaps the best pitching performance for the Brewers came from Robert Gasser in Game 3. He pitched a one-hitter in his six innings of work. He was effective with his pitches utilizing every part of the strike zone and leaving Tampa Bay’s lineup flustered throughout that game. He only struck out 3 batters, but he didn’t need to with how he was pitching in that game.

The great Bob Uecker who was the longtime radio voice for the Milwaukee Brewers was certainly enjoying the 2026 season from heaven. The players, coaching staff, front office and the fans all adored Ueck and frankly the entire country did. Milwaukee’s first World Series title was a bittersweet one, but it was worth it with the way they played the game going about it doing it their way.

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers on winning their first World Series title in franchise history.
