Defense Was The Name Of The Game

This wasn’t the best game nor was it the best year for the Super Bowl ads in my opinion. The halftime show could have been better and it could have been worse. Continue reading

I must say that this is probably the first year that I have avoided all the hoopla that surrounds two weeks of hyping one football game. I barely watched a few minutes of any sports network’s coverage of this years Super Bowl and frankly I’m glad because this year they seemed to be struggling to try and come up with some unique storylines. For one, anyone trying to make a point about Cam Newton and the way he conducts himself on the field was tiresome and disingenuous. Super Bowl XLIX - New England Patriots v Seattle Seahawks

Quite The Finish

Before we get to the second guessing of the final offensive play for the Seattle Seahawks, lets face facts. Time of possession was a huge factor in the New England Patriots winning Super Bowl XLIX. As was the fact that going 8 for 14 on third down and having Tom Brady being sacked only once helped them score 28 points. Who played to win the game? Both of them did, but we all know that if anyone else had a say, Marshawn Lynch would be getting the ball on the one yard line. Continue reading

Will this be a repeat of last years Super Bowl? Hopefully not, but it seems to be a rematch with the New England Patriots who play with the same style as the Denver Broncos who were trounced in last years game. Seattle has certainly peaked at the right time and they will try to be the first repeat champion since the Patriots did in 2004-05. Tom Brady is trying to get his fourth title and Russell Wilson wants to get paid like an elite quarterback. This wasn’t the matchup we expected, but it is the one we were dealt. Continue reading
