NFC West

Standard

1. San Francisco 49ers

Salary cap hell is approaching and this will likely be the last year with this current group to finally cash in and win a Super Bowl title.

2. Los Angeles Rams

With a healthy QB Matthew Stafford and a healthy WR Cooper Kupp, they could push for a top spot for the Wild Card and maybe the division should the Niners falter.

3. Seattle Seahawks

A new regime is taking shape at the coaching ranks. Can the new look defense match what the offense can produce on a weekly basis?

4. Arizona Cardinals

I don’t see Arizona giving up on QB Kyler Murray should he falter or get hurt again this season, but time is running out on his worth in the desert.

NFC South

Standard

1. Atlanta Falcons

They brought in the quarterback in Kirk Cousins and drafted his future replacement in Michael Penix Jr. And they also improved their defense which puts them atop the favorites to win the South.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winners of the NFC South the last three seasons, there’s no denying that they can do it again, but they still have some weak spots that weren’t addressed.

3. New Orleans Saints

The head coaching prowess of Dennis Allen will come into question this season as will the future of QB Derek Carr in New Orleans should they stumble.

4. Carolina Panthers

With an owner as volatile as David Tepper, the Panthers will struggle to have some semblance of normalcy in the immediate future.

NFC North

Standard

1. Detroit Lions

Lessons were learned from last season and the secondary has been shored up. Time to see if they can take it all the way to a Super Bowl.

2. Green Bay Packers

They were one bad half away from getting to the NFC Championship game. Can QB Jordan Love repeat what he accomplished last season in his first year as the starter?

3. Chicago Bears

The reset button has been pushed at quarterback in Chicago once again. For their sake they better have gotten this one right.

4. Minnesota Vikings

We’ll have to wait until next year to see how rookie QB J.J. McCarthy does in Minnesota. For the time being QB Sam Darnold will be the replacement for the departed Kirk Cousins.

NFC East

Standard

1. Philadelphia Eagles

Another late season collapse will likely spell the end for head coach Nick Sirianni. Which would be the most Philadelphia thing since they let go of Doug Pederson not long after winning a Super Bowl.

2. Dallas Cowboys

Owner Jerry Jones is as defiant as ever. Yet, I can’t imagine him staying with the status quo if the Cowboys don’t at least get to the NFC Championship game.

3. New York Giants

I have a feeling that letting RB Saquon Barkley go will bite them in the butt for a long time.

4. Washington Commanders

If rookie QB Jayden Daniels can stay upright, they could push towards a .500 season with the pieces they’re putting in place around him.

AFC West

Standard

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Many teams have come close to winning three consecutive Super Bowl titles. This could be the best chance of that actually coming to fruition.

2. Los Angeles Chargers

They finally faced the music and went and got Jim Harbaugh to be their head coach after his national championship season at the university of Michigan.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

I don’t see them being one of the worst teams, but I also don’t see them being one of the better teams. It’s not the best place to be when you need a franchise quarterback.

4. Denver Broncos

It’s not likely, but they could make a jump this season in the standings. If rookie QB Bo Nix proves his doubters wrong.
