Didn’t Giannis Antetokounmpo suffer a knee injury in the Eastern Conference Finals? And it kept him out of the final two games of that series? Is that right? It is? Okay. I guess that’s why his nickname is the “Greek Freak”.

Thankfully for Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks, his knee was fine and he played on another level in the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns. They were down 2-0 to the Suns in Phoenix, but the series changed when they began to play in Milwaukee.

Giannis was undoubtedly the Finals MVP with averages of 35 PPG, 13 RPG, 5 APG, while adding a steal and almost 2 blocks per game to boot.

Obviously he couldn’t have done this alone in today’s NBA. Khris Middleton averaged 24 PPG, 6 RPG, 5 APG and Jrue Holiday averaged 16 PPG, 6 RPG, 9 APG, but averaged 2 steals per game solidifying his reputation as an elite defender in the game today.

The Milwaukee Bucks had a once in a generation talent the last time they won a NBA championship in Lou Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). They have another one this time around in Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In my eyes, the face of the league is no longer LeBron James. The divisiveness that he has brought to this league for the last decade needs to be put aside. Giannis should and must be put at the forefront going forward.

If you want the folks (myself included) who stopped watching the league for the last 3+ years to return, Giannis is the man that can help in that regard. The league would also have to stop groveling to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) in China as well.
