It’s not surprising to see the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl for the third time in the last five seasons. Having been in the last five AFC Championship games, they are quickly becoming the New England Patriots of the Belichick-Brady era. This time with Andy Reid as head coach and Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. For the Philadelphia Eagles it has been a quick turnaround since they fired head coach Doug Pederson after the 2020 season. It was only three seasons earlier that they won their first Super Bowl title, but the 2020 season was such a disaster that they needed to hit the restart button. Nick Sirianni is only in his second season as the head coach and already they are poised to win another Super Bowl with a stacked roster. Jalen Hurts had a MVP-esque season, but was a bit banged up down the stretch of the season missing two games, which happened to be losses. This is a game that has a steady supply of storylines and without further adieu lets get into it.

StandardMission Accomplished
When the trade was announced after the 2021 season that the Los Angeles Rams had acquired QB Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions, I knew it meant that they were serious about getting to the Super Bowl. After their last appearance they gave their quarterback at the time Jared Goff an extension that raised some eyebrows, but they felt they had a capable quarterback to get them back to the big game. That didn’t happen and the Rams brass decided to make a move.

StandardIf you had the Cincinnati Bengals appearing in the Super Bowl this season, congratulations. Hopefully you put a bet down on that before the season kicked off. They will be making their third Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. The last came in the 1988 season. They have yet to win a Super Bowl. For the Los Angeles Rams this will be their fifth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. The last came in the 2018 season. The Rams only Super Bowl title came in the 1999 season. This will be the second consecutive Super Bowl where one participant will play on their home field. Last year we saw the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. Will the Rams do the same at SoFi Stadium? The last time the city of Los Angeles hosted a Super Bowl was in 1973 when the Miami Dolphins completed their undefeated season. One team is having a ‘Cinderella’ type season, while the other has done everything to get to this point and remain title contenders. Don’t be fooled into thinking this will be a one-sided affair. That’s what they want you to think. It’s time to dive into this matchup.
