AFC South

Standard

1. Houston Texans

They are taking advantage of the rookie contract of QB C.J. Stroud to bolster the rest of the roster for a Super Bowl run.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars

There was no doubt that they would extend QB Trevor Lawrence. The question now is can he live up to that extension going forward?

3. Indianapolis Colts

It remains to be seen if QB Anthony Richardson can stay healthy to live up to his potential.

4. Tennessee Titans

They could surprise some folks this season, but that will depend on the development of QB Will Levis under new head coach Brian Callahan.

AFC North

Standard

1. Baltimore Ravens

When the time comes in the playoffs, will they actually use RB Derrick Henry or will they forget that he’s there?

2. Cincinnati Bengals

The health of their quarterback matters more to the Bengals than any franchise in the league.

3. Cleveland Browns

If QB Deshaun Watson has another subpar or injury shortened season, the grumblings will be louder about how Cleveland got fleeced in trading for him.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers

The quest to stay above .500 continues with new quarterbacks and a new offensive coordinator.

AFC East

Standard

1. Buffalo Bills

The chances are dwindling that they will win a fifth consecutive division title, but with a healthy Josh Allen at quarterback it puts them ahead of the rest of the division.

2. New York Jets

They want to win not just a division title, but a Super Bowl title. This will be their best chance to do it with what they hope is a full healthy season from Aaron Rodgers.

3. Miami Dolphins

A massive extension for QB Tua Tagovailoa cinches the fact that Miami is all in for Tua. If he can cut down on the interceptions they could push for potentially hosting a playoff game instead of being left out in the cold.

4. New England Patriots

If you thought last season was rough. Patience is needed for the roster to take shape, but does owner Robert Kraft have that kind of patience?

2024 MLB All-Star Teams

Standard

For the 94th year of the Midsummer Classic, baseball goes to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The last time the mid-summer classic was played in Arlington was in 1995. Now every year there is always a lot of discussion and some of it a little dated about how the teams are put together. No system will ever be perfect. Fans don’t always get it right and managers won’t either, nor the commissioner’s office. The fact that the players are able to vote for participants was a great choice and they know who is deserving. Regardless of who should or shouldn’t be in the game lets just accept that the best players will always be involved one way or another. Here are my all-stars keeping with the rules that every team be represented and a total of 32 players for each league.

AVG – Batting Average

ERA – Earned Run Average

HR – Home Runs

RBI – Runs Batted In

SV – Saves

BAA – Batting Average Against

WHIP – Walks/Hits Per Innings Pitched

K – Strikeouts

Stats are accurate as of July 13th

This League Doesn’t Want To Succeed

Standard

You might be wondering why in the world am I talking about the WNBA? I’ve never mentioned it here before and paid no attention to it at all since its inception in 1997. Well, this will shock you to know that I did pay attention to it during its first two years in existence in ’97 and 1998. I’ve rarely paid any mind to it since as the novelty wore off.
