Week 3 Review of the NFL

3-0 Is A Hell Of A Start

Five teams are off to a 3-0 start to the season. Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Minnesota and Seattle. They’re all in prime position to control their destiny of making the playoffs. Out of all of them, the Steelers have the most impressive defense, but the Vikings looked exceptionally well against Houston. There are some question marks with Seattle as their schedule hasn’t been as tough as the others. Kansas City could have easily been 0-3 to start the season, but fortune has favored them so far. Buffalo has looked to be the most balanced team so far. QB Josh Allen is looking like an MVP so far to start the season, but it’s a long way to go before we get to January. However, the Bills don’t appear to have much competition for their division other than the New York Jets whom they’ll play in October. For now these are the top teams, but crazier things have happened before and will most likely happen again.

The Bungals Are Here To Stay

I have to say that this is quickly becoming a disaster for Cincinnati to start this season. For them to lose like they did against New England in Week 1 and then see the Patriots play horribly against Seattle and the New York Jets the next two games says more about the Bengals. They should have defeated the Kansas City Chiefs if not for a blatant pass interference call by the Bengals defense late in the game. Then leading into their Monday night matchup against Washington, DB Cam Taylor-Britt had to open his mouth and say the Commanders had a “college offense” which is hilarious to think of that comment as a burn because if he had been watching college football lately, their offense’s are a lot better than the NFL’s. Washington went on to have their best game of the season with rookie QB Jayden Daniels throwing for 254 yards and 2 touchdown passes with a rushing touchdown to go with that. He also complete 21 of 23 passing attempts. Not bad for a ‘college offense’ in my opinion. Ever since that recent Super Bowl appearance, the Bengals have reverted back to being the Bungals again. They are going to find new and unique ways to lose games this season. It’s sad to see, but this is going to be getting a lot worse as the season goes on.

Not Quite The Time To Panic

If you’re a team like the Miami Dolphins, who are 1-2 to start the season, it’s definitely time to start panicking. No Tua for a minimum of four games and now his backup, Skylar Thompson left the game last week with a rib injury. Not that Thompson was gonna right this ship, but the Dolphins offense needs Tua to function. For Baltimore, they finally realized what they have and that’s an elite rushing attack and never backed away from it against Dallas. For the Cowboys, their defense has a huge problem in stopping the run and more teams are going to expose that the rest of the season. San Francisco is having a hard time keeping up with the amount of injuries across their roster. The more concerning one is with players who didn’t have a full training camp. I’m looking at WR Brandon Aiyuk who has the case of the drops and OT Trent Williams who at times looks like he needed a training camp to get used to blocking the rushers. Baltimore, Dallas and the 49ers aren’t out of it yet. The Cowboys play an awful New York Giants team Thursday. San Francisco hosts a bad Patriots team and the Ravens host the undefeated Buffalo Bills. Baltimore could be 1-3 after next week, but if they run the ball with a stat line anywhere near the 45 rushes for 274 yards they did against Dallas, Buffalo could suffer their first loss of the year. It would also help if the Ravens defense actually holds a lead late in the game as well and not make it interesting.
