1. Washington Nationals

The only flaw is the back end of their bullpen, but they could remedy that before the trade deadline.

2. New York Mets

This is easily one of the deepest rosters the Mets franchise have ever had.

3. Miami Marlins

With the loss of Jose Fernandez to a boat accident, they’ll have to rebuild the rotation.

4. Atlanta Braves

The new ballpark will be open and it’s time to see all the talent the Braves have accumulated for the past two seasons.

5. Philadelphia Phillies

Another year in the cellar is likely, but the Phillies future is looking brighter each day. Continue reading

Spring Is In The Air

Is it a coincidence that Spring Training starts around Valentine’s Day? While I like talking about football, basketball and hockey, I love when it’s time for baseball. The sound of the ball hitting the glove or being struck by a bat. This is my first love when it comes to sports.  Continue reading

National League East

1. New York Mets

Their patience paid off and the benefits should continue for the foreseeable future.

2. Washington Nationals

Hiring Dusty Baker should light a fire, but they need some more re-tooling on the roster.

3. Miami Marlins

The same question remains; Will owner Jeffrey Loria get out of the way of his new manager?

4. Philadelphia Phillies

There are a lot of pieces in place to bring the Phillies back from the cellar.

5. Atlanta Braves

They probably have another two years of ‘planning’ left before they start contending.

Halloween came and went. We stuffed our faces during Thanksgiving and celebrated the season at Christmas. We rang in the New Year and let Valentines go to the wayside. Pretty soon the unofficial holiday of Opening Day will be upon us and there are always a ton of questions as to what the new baseball season will bring us. I only have ten, but they are the ten most important and burning questions going into Spring Training. Continue reading
